There isn’t one way to do therapy. What’s helpful depends on the person, what they’re carrying, and what kind of support feels right.
Catherine Alvarado, LMFT & Associates offers different ways of working—whether through EMDR therapy, somatic therapy, IFS, or a steady, talk-based approach rooted in connection and reflection.
-
Individual therapy offers a space to slow down, be heard, and work through what’s coming up—whether it’s anxiety, trauma, stress, or feeling stuck. Sessions are shaped by each person’s needs and may include EMDR, somatic therapy, IFS, or just time to talk things through at a steady pace.
-
Relationships can be some of our greatest sources of connection—and also where tension, miscommunication, or long-held patterns show up. Couples and family therapy can support deeper understanding, clearer communication, and more trust between partners or family members. Every relationship system is different, and therapy makes space for that.
-
A trauma-informed approach for processing painful memories, reducing anxiety, and releasing stuck emotional patterns. EMDR supports healing by helping the brain reprocess overwhelming experiences in a safe, structured way.
-
Intensive EMDR involves focused 2-hour sessions designed for deep, uninterrupted healing. This extended format allows for faster progress in addressing trauma, anxiety, or other distressing experiences—often achieving in days what may take months in weekly therapy. Ideal for those seeking immediate relief or more time to focus on healing.
-
Adjunct EMDR provides focused EMDR therapy to support work already being done with a primary therapist. This collaborative approach targets specific trauma, blocks, or patterns, offering deeper processing without replacing the existing therapeutic relationship. Ideal for clients seeking specialized trauma support alongside ongoing therapy.
