What “Eunoia” Means
Eunoia (pronounced ehv-nee-uh) is an ancient Greek word meaning goodwill, beautiful intention, or sacred favor. In ancient times, to have the gods’ eunoia meant being held in their good graces—supported by something greater and surrounded by favorable energy. There’s something quietly powerful about that idea.
For us, the name Eunoia Wellness Studio carries more than a definition—it reflects a value system. It represents clarity, alignment, and care held with intention. To step into this space is to be welcomed into:
Goodwill — where experiences are met without judgment
Sacred favor — where care is offered thoughtfully and with respect
Connection — where mind, body, and spirit are considered together
Eunoia isn’t only a name or a place—it’s a guiding principle. One that shaped how the studio was imagined from the beginning.
How Eunoia Wellness Studio Came to Be
Eunoia Wellness Studio was co-created by Taylor Addison, LMFT 130177, and me, Catherine Alvarado, LMFT 134744, with a shared vision of creating a space that supports integrative, thoughtful care.
We officially opened the studio in 2024, though the idea had been forming for years. After working in more traditional therapy offices, it became clear that many spaces prioritize efficiency over intention, and function over experience.
We wanted to create a studio that reflects the kind of work we value—care that considers both mind and body, and a setting that allows providers to practice in ways that feel aligned rather than constrained.
From the beginning, this wasn’t just about securing office space. It was about creating a shared home for therapists and holistic providers who value collaboration, depth, and care that feels connected rather than fragmented.
The Feel of the Space
The feel of the space at Eunoia is intentional, but subtle. Rather than feeling clinical or rushed, the studio is designed to feel steady and grounded. It’s a place where it’s easier to slow down, arrive in the body, and take a breath before anything begins.
The environment supports ease and presence, creating conditions that allow reflection and deeper work to unfold naturally. More than a traditional therapy office, Eunoia is meant to feel supportive in a quiet, unobtrusive way—by how it feels to be there.

About the Author
Catherine Alvarado, LMFT, is an EMDRIA Certified Therapist and EMDRIA Approved Consultant based in Redondo Beach, California, offering individual therapy to teens and adults through South Bay Psychotherapy & EMDR. She also co-owns Eunoia Wellness Studio, a collaborative space in Redondo Beach created to support holistic care. Her work attends to the thinking mind alongside emotional and bodily experience, with attention to how stress and life experiences are carried in the nervous system.
Catherine specializes in EMDR therapy and works with individuals navigating anxiety, panic, trauma, and patterns that feel difficult to shift, even with insight. EMDR is one part of a broader approach that helps connect past experiences with what shows up in the present, supporting greater ease, safety, and self-trust over time.
Her work is relational and reflective, often blending EMDR with somatic awareness and gentle exploration of inner experience. Therapy is approached as a space to slow things down, get curious, and build a more steady, trusting relationship with oneself.
She practices in Redondo Beach and offers both in-person and online therapy.
